Nearly blind, neglected sheep finds sanctuary

Published Tuesday March 14

BRENTWOOD — The elderly sheep that was found wandering southwest Antioch last week has found a home at a local sanctuary that takes in abused or neglected farm animals.

The sheep was at 1st found wandering around Pintail Dr. by Antioch Animal Services on Wednesday. After Animal Control Officer Cat Cottle and a police officer were able to get a hold of the person she realized that the ram, which is a male sheep, was neglected.

“He was afraid for sure,” Cottle told the East Bay Times last week. “We think he’s an older boy. He’s got cataracts, cloudy eyes and can’t see very well and wool hanging off of him.”

Article length: About 140 words.
